Katra, Jammu: A secretly run helicopter smashed in Trikuta slopes in Jammu and Kashmir’s Katra range, killing six Mata Vaishno Devi-bound pioneers and the lady pilot on Monday, witnesses and police authorities said.
The helicopter having a place Himalayan Heli Services slammed apparently because of think haze that immersed most parts of the State in the morning and right away burst into flames, witnesses said. The haze disturbed air, rail and street transport administrations over the State.
Police and safeguard authorities raced to the spot however said none of the general population on board appear to have made due in the accident.
Authorities said that the helicopter slammed not long after in the wake of taking off from Sanjhi Chatt helipad on the peripheries of the Katra town, the base-camp of the Vaishno Devi journey.
Police has enrolled a case and taken up examinations. The personalities of the accident casualties are being found out.
Prior, air, rail and street transport in the Kashmir Valley and numerous parts of the State’s Jammu area were disturbed by exceptionally poor perceivability because of thick mist. A few flights to and from the Srinagar International Airport have been deferred.
