Mumbai: Mumbai Indians chief Rohit Sharma was upbraided by the match arbitrator for demonstrating inordinate, clear frustration with the umpire’s choice amid his group’s match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.
“Sharma admitted to the Level 1 offense 2.1.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials. For Level 1 breaks of the IPL Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s choice is last and authoritative,” read the official proclamation.
Amid the tenth over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings, Sharma was given out LBW by umpire CK Nandan, taking after which the batsman was seen motioning irately and demonstrating his bat to the umpire as he left.
In any case, a few replays demonstrated the umpire had obviously missed a major inside edge.
