“We have expanded the MSP of all kharif crops for 2016-17. Far beyond the MSP, we have additionally chosen to give a reward of Rs 425 for every quintal for heartbeats and Rs 100-200 for each quintal for oilseeds,” Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh told columnists after the CCEA meeting.
In the wake of including the reward part, tur MSP has been raised to Rs 5,050 for each quintal during the current year from Rs 4,625 for each quintal a year ago. A year ago as well, the legislature had given a reward of Rs 200 for every quintal to producers.
